Should you hire an office cleaning company?
Hire an office cleaning company when cleaning has started eating staff time, when restrooms and floors need more than a quick tidy, or when clients see the space. Before you hire, ask five things: are the cleaners insured and background-checked, what's in the written scope, is there a contract, what are the payment terms, and what happens when something is missed.
What are the signs it's time to stop cleaning in-house?
- The daily list keeps slipping. Trash sits, the break room sink fills, and nobody owns the fridge.
- Staff are doing jobs they weren't hired for. Someone is scrubbing a toilet or vacuuming between calls. That time belongs back on their real work.
- Restrooms and floors need more than a wipe. Toilets, restroom floors and mopping take the right products, gloves and a separate set of cloths.
- Clients and patients walk through. The reception area, the conference room and the restroom are what visitors see.
- The office has grown. More people means more traffic through the kitchen and restrooms than a Friday half hour can cover.
What does a clean office do for the people in it?
People notice a sticky break room counter and a restroom that's out of paper. A cluttered conference table makes a meeting start late while someone clears it. When the basics are handled on a schedule, nobody on the team has to be the one who cares, and nobody resents being that person.
A few habits help, whoever does the cleaning:
- Clear desk surfaces at the end of the week, so desks can be wiped properly.
- Keep basic supplies where people can reach them: a spray bottle and cloths in the kitchen for spills.
- Set the fridge rule and stick to it: anything unlabeled or past its date goes on clean-out day.
- Make the conference room reset part of the last meeting of the day.
What should you ask an office cleaning company?
- Are the cleaners insured and background-checked? Ask who carries the coverage and who checks it.
- Who is my contact? You want one place to call about scheduling, billing and problems.
- What's in the scope, in writing? Rooms, tasks, how often, and what's outside the scope. If it isn't written down, it's a guess.
- Is there a long-term contract? And what it takes to end it.
- What are the payment terms? How you're invoiced and when payment is due.
- What happens if something is missed? Ask how you report it and how fast it's fixed.
- Who brings supplies? And whether they can use yours if your office has preferences.
- How often can you clean? Some offices need weekly; others need daily.
Get the answers in writing and compare them side by side.
How do you decide how often?
Start from traffic, not square footage. Count how many people use the space each day, how many restrooms there are, and whether visitors come through. A five-person office with no visitors and one restroom needs much less than a ten-person office with a waiting room. The kitchen and restrooms set the pace; desks and offices can usually run on a slower schedule.
How does Tina's Clean Team handle office cleaning?
Tina's Clean Team cleans offices, retail, property common areas and most other commercial spaces across South Jersey and Central Jersey. If a space needs a specialized certification, we'll tell you before you book.
- Insured and background-checked. The cleaning professionals are insured and background-checked, and Tina's carries its own coverage in addition to theirs.
- One contact. Tina's remains your central contact for booking, communication, payment and customer support.
- Getting a quote. Smaller offices with a clear scope can book directly with our team, no walkthrough needed. Larger spaces, or spaces that are harder to quote, get a free on-site walkthrough with Michael, Tina's son, and a quote. We reply to commercial requests within one business day.
- Team and frequency. Teams are sized to the scope, from 2 cleaning professionals and more than 4 when a larger space needs it. Cleaning can be one-time or up to daily, and more than once a day if a space needs it.
- Supplies. We bring standard supplies and equipment, and we can use yours if you prefer.
- Contracts and terms. There are no long-term contracts. Commercial invoices are due within 30 days at most; we don't take net 60 or net 90 terms. Invoicing and payment are electronic only.
- If something is missed. If something in your booked scope was missed, walk through before the cleaner leaves and tell us, so it can be fixed on the spot. If you notice it later, call the office within 24 hours and we'll send a cleaner back to re-clean it at no charge, or take care of it at your next scheduled cleaning. If that falls on a weekend, call the next business day and it still counts.

FAQ
When should a small office hire a cleaning company? When the daily list keeps slipping, when staff are cleaning restrooms or mopping floors instead of doing their jobs, or when clients visit and the space shows it. Growth is another trigger: more people means more traffic through the kitchen and restrooms.
What should I ask an office cleaning company before hiring? Ask whether the cleaners are insured and background-checked, who your contact is, what the written scope covers, whether there's a long-term contract, what the payment terms are, and what happens if something is missed.
Do office cleaning companies require a contract? Some do. Tina's Clean Team has no long-term contracts for commercial or residential cleaning.
