Standard vs deep cleaning: what's actually different?

October 30, 2026

Standard vs deep cleaning comes down to a different list. Deep Cleaning adds hand-wiped baseboards, doors and door frames, light switches and handles, reachable ceiling fan and light fixture exteriors, cobwebs, cabinet and drawer fronts with the hardware detailed, and a scrubbed shower with the soap scum and grout treated.

What does a standard cleaning cover?

Standard House Cleaning, RoutineCare, is the regular clean. In every room, the floors are vacuumed and mopped, reachable surfaces and furniture are dusted, counters, shelves and tables that are clear of clutter are wiped, mirrors and glass surfaces are cleaned, and window sills and ledges are wiped.

In the kitchen it covers the countertops and backsplash, the sink and faucet, the stovetop and the outside of the range and hood, the outside of the appliances, the inside of the microwave, the table and chairs, and a spot wipe of the cabinet fronts.

In the bathrooms it covers the toilet inside, outside and at the base, the tub, shower and tiled walls, the shower door glass and tracks, the fixtures and drains, the sink, counter, vanity fronts and mirrors, and the floor.

What does a deep cleaning add?

Deep Cleaning, PureRenewal, does everything above and adds a second layer. These are the rows that change.

Throughout the home

  • Baseboards hand wiped. On a standard clean they are dusted on request and usually skipped.
  • Doors and door frames, light switches, door knobs and handles.
  • Ceiling fans and light fixture exteriors, where they can be reached.
  • Cobwebs removed and blinds dusted.
  • Under and behind furniture that moves easily.
  • Stair railings and banisters wiped.
  • Dusting that includes décor and picture frames, and floors with the edges and corners detailed.

Kitchen

  • The sink descaled and polished, and the stovetop degreased.
  • The top of the refrigerator, where it can be reached.
  • Cabinet and drawer fronts fully wiped, with the hardware detailed.

Bathrooms

  • The tub, shower and tiled walls scrubbed, with the soap scum and grout treated.
  • The shower door glass descaled, and the fixtures and drains descaled and polished.
  • The floor done at the edges and behind the toilet.

If there's a laundry area, Deep also does the top of the washer and dryer and the lint area around the door.

Is a deep clean just a longer standard clean?

No. Deep Cleaning is unconditional: every item on the list is cleaned whether or not it looks like it needs it.

A baseboard that looks fine still gets wiped.

What isn't in either one?

  • Dishes and laundry, unless you add them.
  • Exterior windows, and anything that needs a ladder above a two-step stool.
  • Washing walls.
  • Carpet shampooing or steam cleaning.
  • Moving heavy furniture or appliances.
  • Mold or mildew beyond surface cleaning, biohazards, and pest activity.
  • Construction dust.
  • Removing junk or garbage, which is Heavy-Duty Cleanup, ClutterCare, by assessment.
  • Organizing or decluttering.

Which one should I book?

Standard House Cleaning can be booked one time, weekly, every other week, every 4 weeks or twice a year.

Deep Cleaning is the detailed visit. Book whichever matches the work you want done.

How is a deep clean priced?

Cleaning type is one of the things the price is built from, along with home size, current condition, frequency and add-ons. You don't have to guess: the booking form calculates your price from your details before you submit.

What a deep clean looks like from the customer's side

"What a wonderful company to hire if you need a deep clean. Owners were very responsive to our particular needs as we needed to prepare our house for a showing. Cleaners were prompt and courteous ."
